Comet NEOWISE[]
Kurt heads west with Wolfie, and says that the PAWS fundraiser is up to $2,980. Noting that there are tons of charities that need donations right now, Kurt does thank people for still donating. There is a comet in the Northern Hemisphere, Comet NEOWISE, that Kurt saw traveling out to a dark area. It was higher in the sky than Kurt thought it would be, and it was a hazy smudge that was still brighter than other objects. This comet will not re-appear for another 6000 years, Kurt joking that's how long the Far Lands journey will take.
Question: What combination of features would an electric car need for you to consider it as your next daily driver? Range, driving, price, etc? Any on the market now that interest you?[]
Price is definitely Kurt's biggest concern for an electric car. Kurt thinks he would prefer to get a used car, but there are not a lot of used electric cars.
Question: I'm not sure if you've done this or not, but I would love if you could go F5 in one of your next episodes when you are in a boat=[]
Kurt hops in a boat and does so, showing that his pants stick through the bottom of the boat, an old bug in the Beta version of the game.
Question: I have very hard goals in my life, which I don't know if I'll ever reach. What do you think of Far Lands or Bust being a metaphor for meaning life goals that are incomprehensibly hard to achieve, but are worthy, potentially because they are so hard=[]
Personally, Kurt doesn't see that correlation because he thinks the series is about the journey. Kurt finds three waterfalls all coming out of the same cliffside, and tries to reason what waterfall is in Spanish mentioning he got Ds in his college Spanis classes. Growing up, Kurt had lofty goals like being an author, Air Force pilot, or astronaut. Kurt is now happier having experiences in life rather than having an end goal. He thought for a second about going back to college to get a geology degree or something and thought he should try to achieve the best, which for him was going to space. Kurt would rather this series and his work be famous than him personally becoming famous.
Question: So, you've become quite the gardener. Knowing what you know now, do you have interest in expanding your garden the next year or would you rather avoid it because it's too much work[]
Kurt jokes that gardening is very easy, because The Girlfriend does much of the work. They have four sets of tomatoes, the last one being black goth tomatoes. They tried romaine, and peppers, which have been overshadowed by the tomato plants. They have some blackberry vines that will go crazy in the fall. The two of them also had some roses that bloomed briefly but no longer bloom.
